Nicholastown Castle

Nicholastown Castle

Nicholastown Castle lies west of the town of Clonmel, in County Tipperary, in Ireland.

I was not able to find any historical information about this castle, other than that it was mentioned in the 17th century and that it belonged to the Keating family, who also owned Loughlohery Castle in the same area. If you know more, please mail me.

What remains at present is the corner of a 4-storey tower house, which would have been situated at a corner of a bawn, next to a small cliff.

The ruin of Nicholastown Castle is situated on the grounds of a farm, so it can not be visited. A simple, small ruin.
