Loughlohery Castle

Loughlohery Castle

Loughlohery Castle lies east of the town of Cahir, in County Tipperary, in Ireland.

I was not able to find any historical information about this castle, other than that it dates back to the late 16th century and that it belonged to the Keating family, who also owned Nicholastown Castle in the same area. If you know more, please mail me.

At present the castle still stands to its full height. It is rectangular and has 4 stories.

Loughlohery Castle stands next to the road in a fenced off field, probably used for grazing cattle. So it can not be visited. A beautiful tower house ruin.
