Al Jal Tower

The Al Jal Tower stands above the quiet mountain hamlet of the same name, in the Al Batinah North Governorate in Oman.

The round Al Jal Tower, which is more sturdy than other watch towers, probably served to control the mountain pass between Al Buraimi and Sohar.

A great tower. Its interior can be visited if you have the guts to climb the protruding stones serving as a stairway, I didn't… Also, I could not find a road or path leading to the tower, so I scrambled up the hill. Suhaylah, with its castle and watchtowers, is nearby.
