Falaën Castle

Falaën Castle, locally known as Château-ferme de Falaën, lies in the village of Falaën, in the province of Namur in the Wallonia region in Belgium.

Falaën Castle is not an actual castle but a fortified farm, known as a 'castle farm' or 'château-ferme' in French. It was built between 1670 and 1673 by the Polchet family. Originally, it likely had a square ground plan with 4 square corner towers and a gate building with a drawbridge, allowing the family to defend themselves against roaming gangs of brigands.

In the 18th century, the castle farm was passed to the Coppin family, who owned it for the next two centuries. Due to their local popularity, the castle survived the French Revolution unscathed.

In the 20th century, it was sold to the Delhaye family. In 2018, Falaën Castle was put up for sale for just €820,000. It apparently was sold to a Dutchman.

Falaën is a private residence and therefore not open to the public. A very nice castle farm.
