Ajib Castle

Ajib Castle, sometimes also spelled Ajeeb, lies in the quiet and dusty village of the same name, in the foothills of the Al Hajar mountain range, in the Al Batinah North Governorate in Oman.

Ajib Castle has a square ground plan with 2 remaining round towers at opposite corners. There may have been a 3rd. It has a small gate building. Inside the castle are the remains of several structures. As you can see, it is very ruinous and slowly crumbling away.

The ruin of Ajib Castle is freely accessible. But visit at your own risk and don't damage anything. A lovely ruin, I especially like the 2 halved towers and the old gate door, still in place and functioning.
