Al Wardi Castle

Al Wardi Castle lies in the village of Maqabil in the Al Dhahirah Governorate in Oman.

I was not able to find any information about Al Wardi Castle. If you know anything, please mail me. I suspect it was built in the 18th or 19th century.

Situated on the highest point in the village, it has a square plan with 2 round corner towers on opposite corners and is surrounded by a round curtain wall equipped with a gate tower and a wall walk.

Al Wardi Castle looked to be freely accessible, although it was connected to a private residence. Its floors are collapsing, so be very careful when venturing inside. Also, there are a lot of bats inside... I liked it very much.
