As Sifah Tower

As Sifah Tower stands in the seaside village of the same name in the Muscat Governorate in Oman.

I was not able to find any information about As Sifah Tower, other than that it was a watch tower. I suspect that it dates back to the 16th or 17th century.

It stands on a hill, some 200 meters from the shore. The tower has a square ground plan and would probably have had 2 floors. The numerous gun slits show that this was a purely military structure.

As Sifah Tower can freely be visited. I liked this lonely ruin with its wide views over the seashore.
