Mellet Tower

Mellet Tower, locally known as Donjon de Mellet, stands in the center of the village with the same name, in the province of Hainaut in the Wallonia region in Belgium.
It is certain that no fortification existed here in 1210, as the Duke of Brabant explicitly forbade the construction of such a structure. Mellet Tower was likely built at the end of the 13th century, although the first record of a keep at Mellet dates back to 1350.
During the 16th century, the keep probably became part of a larger, more comfortable castle. The current annexes are remnants of that castle.
Ownership of Mellet Tower passed through the Glymes, Witthem, Croÿ, and Spanghen families until 1791, when it was sold to the Clauwez-Briant family. In 1862, it was acquired by the local community. Up until 1946, it was surrounded by a moat.
Today, the buildings attached to Mellet Tower serve as a village school. The tower itself appears to have no current use. I am very curious about its interior.
