Al Kamazra Castle

Al Kamazra Castle lies in the quiet fishing town of Khasab, in the Musandam Governorate in Oman.

When Al Kamazra Castle was built is unknown. I suspect it was built somewhere during the 17th or 18th century. Nothing is known about its history either. So if you know more; please mail me.

At present Al Kamazra Castle can be visited for free. A nice small castle. I don't think it receives a lot of visitors because it is a bit hard to find in the jumble of small streets of Khasab. I also think it often gets overlooked by its bigger and more well-known neighbor; Khasab Castle. There is a walking path starting at Khasab Castle, supposedly leading to Al Kamazra but when I followed it, I got lost, so it's better to take the car. Bani Sanad Fort is also nearby.
