Halban Tower

Halban Tower stands in the village of the same name in the Muscat Governorate in Oman.

I know absolutely nothing about the history of Halban Tower. If you know anything, please mail me.

The tower is situated on a rocky outcrop behind the village. It probably served as a watch tower for the village. From its position it could keep an eye on any approaching traffic coming either out of the direction of the Al Batinah plain in front of it, or the wadi behind it.

Sadly enough, I could not find a safe path up the rocks to visit it up close. I guess Halban Tower is freely accessible, if you manage to reach it. It looks like a fairly large and robust tower.
