Courrière Castle

Courrière Castle, locally known as Château de Courrière, lies in the village of the same name, in the province of Namur in the Wallonia region in Belgium.

Courrière Castle is not an actual castle but a fortified farm, known as a 'castle farm' or 'château-ferme' in French.

It was built around 1622 as a rectangular structure with 2 inner courtyards. Made from sandstone and limestone, it was surrounded by a moat and accessed via a drawbridge.

The building maintained its agricultural purpose until 1976, after which it gradually fell into disrepair. In 1987, the Catholic Scouting Federation acquired it. Since 1992, they have restored the castle in several phases. Today, they use it for training and cultural events.

Visitors can freely explore Courrière Castle, although access to the interior is limited to guests attending events held there. It is a beautifully restored castle farm.
