Bisseret Castle

Bisseret Castle, locally known as Château de Bisseret, lies south of the city of Montluçon, in the Allier department in France.

I was not able to find any historical information about Bisseret Castle, other than that it dates back to the 15th century and underwent rebuilding works during the 18th and 19th centuries. Apparently the castle has been in the possession of the same family for over 400 years. If you know more, please mail me.

The castle has a square ground plan with round corner towers. The square gate tower in the middle of its north face is the former keep. Entrance to the castle was over a drawbridge which was replaced by a stone arched bridge in 1840.

At present Bisseret Castle can be rented for marriages and other gatherings. A nice but simple family castle.
