Amilakhvaris Tower

Amilakhvaris Tower stands next to the village of Pkhvenisi, in the Gori municipality in the Shida Kartli region in Georgia.

Amilakhvaris Tower was probably built in the 18th century as a defensive tower by the Amilakhvaris family. I don't have any historical information about it. If you know more; please mail me.

It has a circular design with a diameter of 10 meters and 2 meter thick walls. There are still some nice architectural details; a wall stair, windows, cupboards and a fireplace.

At present Amilakhvaris Tower is freely accessible. A simple tower ruin.
