Al Shaqab Fort

Al Shaqab Fort, locally also known as Qalat Al Shaqab, lies in the Al Rayyan municipality, in the metropolitan area of Doha in Qatar.

Although Al Shaqab Fort may look like the real thing, it isn't. It was built in 2010. There was a historical Al Shaqab Fort some 300 meters west of it until 2011, but that was demolished to make room for modern developments.

The fort is situated on the grounds of the renowned Al Shaqab Equestrian Center. It doesn't seem to have any use.

Al Shaqab Fort is private property and can not freely be visited. Even though it is a modern construction, I like it very much.
