Al Shamal SC Stadium

Al Shamal SC Stadium lies next to the town of Al Ruwais in the municipality of Madinat ash Shamal in Qatar.

This, of course, is not a real fort. It is a football stadium for the local Al Shamal Sports Club with a capacity of 5000 people, built in 2011. It does however reflect the architecture of a typical desert fort in this region with its 3 round and one rectangular corner towers, although many times enlarged. It also shows the love of the Qataris for their fortified architecture.

I like its appearance very much.
