Seja Fort

Seja Fort, locally also known as Sija, lies south of the city of Al Ain, in the emirate of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. It is situated only some 6 meters from the border fence with Oman.

I could not find any historical information about the fort. If you know anything, please mail me. But as almost all the forts in Abu Dhabi date back to the 19th or early 20th century, I suspect that Seja does too.

Seja Fort is a very simple and small square fort with several rooms. The walls of the fort were built out of mud bricks and cob, and palm tree trunks were used for ceilings. It has been restored in recent years.

At present Seja Fort is freely accessible. The fort is signposted, but there isn't any information at the fort and its interior spaces are bare. Still a nice little fort.
