Patardzeuli Towers

The Patardzeuli Towers are standing in and next to the village of the same name, in the Sagarejo municipality in the Kakheti region in Georgia.

I called them the Patardzeuli Towers but actually both have their own name; the Mirzaant Tower and Bilanishvilis Tower. Both towers date back to the mid-18th century, have a circular ground plan and were built by separate families as a refuge in times of trouble. I have no historical information about them. Mirzaant Tower is situated in the hills north of the village. It was restored in the last decade.

Bilanishvilis Tower is situated in the southern part of the village, directly next to some private residences. This one is still in its original, ruinous state.

At present both towers are freely accessible. I liked them both very much. Patardzeuli Castle is near Bilanishvilis Tower.
