Nichbisi Castle

Nichbisi Castle, also known as Tsitsishvili Palace, lies in the village of Kvemo Nichbisi, in the Mtskheta municipality in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region in Georgia.

In 1615, Luarsab II, King of Kartli, gave the village of Nichbisi to Qaikhosro and Merab Tsitsishvili, members of a Georgian noble family. After that donation the Tsitsishvilis built Nichbisi Castle and used it as their residence. I don't have any other historical info about the castle. If you know more; please mail me.

Nichbisi Castle has an irregular ground plan. Inside its walls are the remains of a small bath house (which now housed a very surprised calf), a ruined palace and a 3-storey rectangular keep.

Nichbisi Castle is freely accessible. A great castle ruin, especially the bath house and the keep are very nice.
