Lissycrimeen Castle

Lissycrimeen Castle, lies in the townland of the same name, south of the town of Timoleague, in County Cork in Ireland.

I could not find any historical information about this castle, other than that it may have had ties with the MacCarthys. If you know anything; please mail me.

The castle was probably just a small tower house of which only 2 stories are left at present. It is situated on a small hill in a bend in a cove leading to the Celtic Sea.

At present Lissycrimeen Castle is part of a private farm, so it can not be visited. It can easily be seen from a road on the other side of the cove.
