Giorgitsminda Towers

The Giorgitsminda Towers are standing in the village of the same name, in the Sagarejo municipality in the Kakheti region in Georgia.

The Giorgitsminda Towers date back to the end of the 18th century. They were built on either side of the local Mother of God Church. So, my guess is that they were built to protect the religious site. I don't have any historical information about them. If you know more; please mail me.

They both have a circular ground plan and were restored in recent years.

At present the towers can not be visited but the church can. A nice cluster of buildings.
