Barka Towers

The Barka Towers are standing in the coastal town of the same name, in the Al Batinah South Governorate in Oman.

The Barka Towers were built to protect the old town, together with Barka Castle. That castle dates back to the late 17th/mid 18th century, so I think the towers are also not older than the 18th century. The east tower is D-shaped and the west tower is round.

I don't know anything specifically about these towers. If you know anything, please mail me.

At present the towers can not be entered but freely be visited. Nice, especially because of the combination with Barka Castle.
