Bait Alnad Castle

Bait Alnad Castle, sometimes also called Bait Al Ned or Husn al-Mahda, lies on the east side of the village of Mahdah, in the Al Buraymi Governorate in Oman. Bait roughly translates back to 'house'.

I don't know anything about this castle. If you know anything, please mail me.

I guess it was built to protect the nearby oasis. The castle has a rectangular ground plan with 3 towers; 2 rectangular ones and a round one. The round tower probably served as a keep.

At present Bait Alnad Castle can be visited for a small fee during opening hours. Its interior is rather bare, as with almost all castles in Oman, but I liked it a lot.
